CONTEXT

Ryokucha is a conceptual rebrand project for a modern matcha café. My goal was to explore how a contemporary tea brand could balance minimalism, warmth, and cultural influence while appealing to its target audience.

PROBLEM

The existing branding lacked a cohesive visual identity that showcased both the product quality and calm experience of the café.

MY ROLE

Researched target audience and café goals, then developed brand logo suite to create cohesive visual identity across signs and packaging.

OBJECTIVES

  • Create a minimalistic, calm, and warm visual identity.

  • Develop a flexible system across packaging and digital mediums.

  • Identify café's target audience.

IDEATION / SKETCHES

Many of my initial ideas centered around a mascot. Because the branding aimed for an airy, light, natural, and calm feeling, I explored Japanese symbols that represent calmness and its natural beauty.
